Costumed interpreters intrigue you with the legacy of the Destrehan family, historic events that occurred at this site, and the unique architectural features of the plantation. Destrehan is owned by the River Road Historical Society, a nonprofit organization.
Tour hours: 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily, with the exception of major holidays. Tours leave every half hour. The guided portion of the tour includes the main house by a costumed guide. After thetour you may see the demonstration and explore the grounds.
$18 for adults, $16 for Triple AAA members and active military, $15 for senior citizens, $7 for children 7-17, and children 6 and under free.

Group Tour Rates:
Special group rates are available for groups of 20 or more and special interest group tours available upon request. Special interactive tours are available by appointment for student groups. Call 985-764-9315 for extended interactive tour rates.

DIRECTIONS: Destrehan Plantation is located a half-mile from from the Hale Boggs Bridge on River Road (Hwy. 48) in Destrehan and 8 miles from the New Orleans International Airport. The site is accessible from I-10 and Highway 61 by taking I-310 south and exiting at River Road (Highway 48). Turn left at River Road, and the house is on left at 13034 River Road. General parking is located at the east entrance.
