Construction on Bridge – delay due to traffic – alternative route to the plantation

Those of you taking the Interstate I-10 to I-310 South Boutte, should be aware that Exit 6 to the plantation has delays due to construction on the Luling Bridge. An alternative way is to take I-310 South to Boutte and take Exit 2 (Hwy 61) to Kenner, Norco. Take Kenner (Hwy. 61 South) and make a right on Almedia Road by the Race Trac Gas Station. Go all the way down Almedia Road to the River Road (Hwy 48). At the light, make a right hand turn. Drive about 3-5 miles on the River Road until you reach the Plantation Store where you will enter for your tour.
